🕊️ We Mourn Together — SIX Lives Lost at The Recruitment Stampede

Today, our hearts are heavy as we reflect on the tragic stampede that claimed the lives of six young Ghanaians on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, at a military recruitment exercise in Accra. Initial confirmed number of deceased stood at SIX (6), with FIVE (5) in Intensive Care and TWELVE (12) in Critical Condition. These hopefuls had come seeking opportunity, eager to serve their nation. Instead, they were swept into chaos when thousands surged ahead of the scheduled start, breaching security protocols and overwhelming the site. We pray this number of the fallen does not rise. At this moment of national sorrow, we extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends left behind. To all those injured and traumatized by the event — we stand with you.

GhanaMourns invites the affected to lean into communal strength.
Share tributes, memories, and reflections of those we’ve lost. Let their names be listed, their stories told — for they were more than statistics; they were young Ghanaians with lives, dreams, and endless potential.
Let this tragedy call us to action — to strengthen safety, dignity, and respect in every space where our people gather. May we honour the departed by protecting the living.

🕯️ Vita brevis, memoria aeterna — Life is short, but memory is eternal.
